What we do

Mission

In collaboration with cultural and institutional partners, CoCreate Miami connects local artists to youth and communities across county neighborhoods.

Through free after-school programming, public workshops, and a growing digital network, CoCreate centralizes access to arts education for youth and families, paid opportunities for artists, and cultural resources for the broader public all in one place.

Operating as a conduit channel, CoCreate builds lasting pathways for all of Miami to participate in an interconnected arts ecosystem, through supporting the next generation of leaders, emerging talent, and the work of its cultural partners.

Overview

CoCreate Miami is a county-wide initiative, intent on transforming Miami’s arts ecosystem through mutually beneficial partnerships with artists, institutions, and grassroots organizations. Providing free, holistic visual arts education and public workshops for the public, and a centralized, open-to-all platform for creatives to secure more paid opportunities. We bring young people, artists, families, institutions, and the broader public together through a shared network of programs and relationships—centered in mission aligned community spaces, like public libraries, parks, and neighborhood civic and/or cultural venues, and through providing our digital hub as a resource for both creatives to advertise their services and potential clients to source local talent .

Through our Teaching Artist Residency, After-school Program, Artist Collective, and strategic partnerships, CoCreate seeks to help rejuvenate Miami’s art ecosystem. We seek to uplift and launch local artist careers, assisting them in being recognized as essential contributors to the social and economic fabric of Miami. We empower our students to act as collaborators in their own creative development, and connect their families to creative enrichment opportunities beyond the classroom.

In addition to long-term programs led by Resident Teaching Artists, CoCreate also supports Collective Members—local artists who design and facilitate one-off workshops in collaboration with partner institutions. These workshops help deepen community engagement, expand public access to the arts. Through our open-to-all Artist Community, we hope to serve as a connective tissue between local creatives and local interest in their services.
